Looser Lead Bronze 82 (LBB 82) – CuSn10Pb10-C-GS/GC/GZ DIN EN 1982
Looser Lead Bronze 82 is a medium-soft leaded tin bronze with particularly good thermal stability and good emergency running properties at high mechanical values. It has good wear resistance and good running-in behaviour. Looser Lead Bronze 82 is resistant to seawater and insensitive to many alkalis and acids as well as to dust, dirt and edge pressure. Maximum permissible specific surface pressure [p] up to 60 N/mm2 with good cooling lubrication.

* Guideline value
The sample bar is removed from the casting in the case of centrifugal castings and continuous castings. The sample position – e.g. lengthwise or crosswise sample – must be agreed between orderer and manufacturer: the values specified in the table apply only to wall thicknesses up to 50 mm for the blank casting. In the case of wall thicknesses over 50 mm, with the wall thickness of the blank casting being the decisive factor, it must be anticipated that the strength and hardness values are lower. This applies in particular to the yield point.
It must not be expected that the strength and hardness values are uniformly high at all points of the casting. In general, the values in the outer layers will be higher than in the core zone.

Example uses
Bearings for hot rolling mills, vehicle bearings, bearings for precision machinery, piston pins and gearbox bushings.
Machinability
Machining the Looser Lead Bronze 82 is easy. Very attractive surfaces are achieved when fine turning with the diamond. Welding and hard soldering are unsuitable for joining purposes, whereas soft soldering is possible.
Sliding partners
Hardened and ground shafts are recommended as mating materials, but not a requirement.
